Tenth Street is very music based. Two of the seven staff members are in rock bands. Nathan Sackman, the band teacher was involved with a rock band called, Slideshow (discontinued). They had multiple shows a month and has done some time in the recording studio. Eric Hanson, the Social Studies teacher is the bass player for the locally known, Arisen From Nothing. Every three years, the entire school goes on a field trip to Fort Worden in Washington. The students learn about marine biology and Washington state history. The trip is concluded by a concert in the converted hot air balloon hangar.
